After going through the big disappointment of not been able to have a Final Year Show due to restrictions and closure of University buildings. This opportunity able me to show the work I prepared and that was going to display, now in this great space in the centre of Brighton and it could be looked from the road or passing by walking.
Final Year Show 2020
I was born and grew up in Lima, Peru. My grandfather has a hotel on the north coast of Peru, Cabo Blanco Fishing Club, where famous artists like Sinatra and Hemingway together with other famous people from around the world went to fish the Blue Merlin, making this place magic and like a jewel in a surreal desert.
Work in the Times of Covid Part 3
Just days before the lockdown a group of us participate in an exhibition at the Hove museum, we were all excited about it, but unfortunately 2 days later everything was closed; so that frustration plus the one of not having a final year show, start playing in my mind ways to exhibit my work.
Work in the Times of Covid Part 2
Having to move from the studio space to my place wasn’t a hard thing, still not ideal but doable. I felt blessed and very grateful at the time of realising I had this free space at home to work with, so I turned the spare bedroom we had on the first floor into a studio, was a double room but not big enough for the work I still wanted to do, my assemblages on a bigger format; so decided to use the room for drawings and written work together with canvases that may fit in the room and work with oils on them.

Thinking at the same time, all the last months conversations with friends about human condition and the velocity of the climate change and is consequences, like the fires and floods around the world, a theme I’ve been working on for the last 4 years.
