Travelling The 2022

2022 was a traveling year for me. After been lockdown for 2 years, I decided to travel around to catch up with family that didn’t see for that long period of time, to reconnect with my country of birth and it’s diverse culture. I did felt though, like a foreign in my own country after been so long away from it and the cultural differences.

Starting at the beginning of the year traveling to the Peruvian north coast, roaming the Moche route; a beautiful trip through the naked desert and pre inca archaeological sites leading to beautiful beaches.

Costa Rica was an interesting one, where the contrast of the dense vegetation together with its flora, fauna and extreme hot weather, created a total different landscape. Always extreme changes, from the desert to the jungle.

Back in Peru decided to do the Andes, specifically Cuzco and it lovely surroundings, decided not to do the typical tourist itinerary ( Machu Pichu, Inca Trail, Indian Market, etc ) and go to The Sacred Valley and its beautiful villages in it, where you can see and experience the daily life of its inhabitants, enjoying the views, the colours , the smells , the flavours, the mountains, the landscape and the super rich culture.

Croatia and the North Hemisphere made a call, a beautiful country, with amazing views, little islands and beaches; its architecture and culture makes a stand in between regular European countries.

Ole! Malaga and its Spanish food and traditions also rang the bell, couldn’t say no to such and invitation from very special friends, a explendid wedding celebration took place, where the hot summer and bright colours adorned and make this wonderful experience unforgettable.

Being close to my second home England couldn’t resist in spend some time with friends and the lovely Brighton summer.

Making my way back to Peru did a stop over to see old friends and family, where Miami and its Keys, invaded me with bright colours , great art, and amazing people. Miami it’s always like a meeting point for me, the multicultural city and its Latin culture make me feel totally at home, even more at home than in my own country.

Have gathered along this travelling year, amazing experiences, views, natural disasters and how they affect the population, people habits and ways of living according to their cultures , cities, towns, villages, governments, the differences between them, riots, coup, protests and everything that comes with it. Great research and vivid circumstances that now, back in the outskirts of Lima Peru, I’m using them for my work.
